Skin is our first story. It carries us, announces us, and meets the touch of others. secondskin looks beyond that first surface to the traces left when bodies meet—moments when someone else’s presence becomes a new layer of our own.
Here, skin is more than flesh. It is the memory of a hand. The echo of a voice. The warmth of a stranger imagined. It is fabric, atmosphere, and dream. These are the second skins we carry: the people, the moments, the encounters that settle over us, quietly shaping who we are, how we move, how we remember.
This exhibition gathers six artists who document, reinvent, and conjure the body in relation. Some turn to family archives, others to spontaneous portraits or invented figures that hover between worlds. Each piece asks how connection—brief or enduring—becomes part of the body’s history.
To move through secondskin is to experience the body as a field of encounters: a shifting landscape of selves meeting selves; every touch telling a story, every story becoming another skin.
